Well, all good things must come to an end and today concludes our assignment here in India. All three of us, Ted, Russ and myself spoke at the church this morning at both services.
Russ spoke on faith in the midst of trying circumstances.
Ted spoke on the need for hope to energize faith.
I spoke on God’s love for us in sending the Lamb to die in our place.
The church was full of passionate people pressing into God and celebrating what it means to be redeemed by the blood of Jesus in the midst of so many gods and religions that try to please the living God on their own merits.
Both services were lively, energetic and humbling to see folks who in poverty be so rich in the things of God. We felt overwhelmed by their respect for the men of God.
In-between the services, we were asked to visit a home where a man had died leaving his wife of 38 years. We came upon a simple but clean home with a tent outside for family and friends to come and pay their respects. Once inside we prayed over the family and Ted invited everyone to ask Jesus into their hearts and lives.
Once back at the church, we were ready for the second service which was just as exciting as the first. I met two very interesting people. 1) Christine, a lady healed of leprosy and a real asset to the church, then 2) Jeevarathanam, a man who had been bitten by a Cobra snake, had a vision of three drops of Jesus’ blood coming into him. He was healed and took time to show us the scar on his finger.
I spoke on the lamb slain before the foundation of the world and the One we will worship throughout eternity.
